History of LUCG

The Lakeside University College, Ghana (LUCG), formerly known as the Madina Institute of Science and Technology, was established in 2013 by the Madina Foundation for Science and Technology (MFST) with the support of Al-Diya, a non-governmental organisation. The MFST is a not-for-profit organisation established by a group of Muslim businessmen and businesswomen to transform the lives of the youth in underserved communities by providing quality education with an emphasis on science and technology education. The University started operating in September 2016 with seventy (70) students and four (4) degree programmes following its accreditation in the same year by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission to offer tertiary education programmes in Ghana. Currently, the University has six accredited programmes, three schools and a student population 372 drawn from four different countries. The University has graduated three cohorts with an alumni population of approximately one-hundred and eighty (180) students.
